This week in Umbria there were some events such as the Glocal Economic Forum in Norcia and the Career Day of the University of Perugia. Two occasions that led us to talk about social sustainability: a multidimensional concept that analyzes and studies the impact of a company in the reality in which it operates.
The various facets of sustainability, which are increasingly important in today’s business world, encourage us to reflect on ART’s commitment to contributing to the well-being of the local area and its inhabitants through initiatives and projects that improve quality of life, with a focus on younger generations.
Participating again this year at the UNIPG Career Day gave us the opportunity to reflect on how much ART is achieving in its local area through its collaborations with various universities of excellence, such as the University of Perugia, the Polytechnic University of Marche and the University of L’Aquila.
ART stands out for the professional opportunities it offers young talent. If growing means learning and putting yourself to the test, then the company becomes a valuable place where motivated and highly qualified resources – people – have the opportunity to gain experience.
Thanks to programs dedicated to the younger generation, such as internships, work experience and the ‘Z Incubator’, ART promotes growth and learning, supported by professional mentoring from senior figures who become a point of reference for young professionals. During 2024, the company was able to convert 36 internship contracts into employment contracts, out of a total of 48 extracurricular internships. In the same year, it hosted 19 curricular apprenticeships (university/ITS) and 19 students for PCTO (school-work alternation) projects.
This is only a small part of a wider route that began with our active participation in SITUM (School of Technological, Humanistic and Managerial Innovation) and the many seminars organized by ART staff, which every year bring the university world closer to the ART universe through a valuable exchange of skills.
“ART has been committed for years to promoting integration between the business world and academia, – Prof. Placidi of the Department of Engineering at the University of Perugia, says.
“It has been actively participating in the organization of a series of practical laboratory lessons. In this context, students have the opportunity to tackle the complexity of designing digital electronic systems for embedded applications, gaining in-depth knowledge of the use of advanced technologies and the principles of real-time operations.
This approach contributes to the training of professionals capable of developing critical devices — such as those used in the medical, automotive and industrial sectors — that are able to respond accurately and reliably to external stimuli, thus ensuring high standards of safety and efficiency”.
